Your role
This is an internal customer facing and delivery focussed role with responsibility for the end to end delivery of technology change for the Programme. This role will be focussed on both managing the delivery of new application and integration services and the alignment with many programme dependencies including Data provision, Architecture design and downstream product development.
You will ensure the core business goals are understood and will help shape large, high risk and complex initiatives. You will work collaboratively with solution architects, vendor partner and internal change teams to ensure that solutions address the requirements of the business, balancing technical debt as a priority.
The successful candidate will have a detailed knowledge of working in an Agile environment using Agile tools and planning techniques. You will have experience working with full scale Scrum or Kanban, and be a competent user of Jira.
You will be required to effectively influence and assist key stakeholders, support multiple change initiatives and oversee and drive communication streams within the programme. A willingness to take on new challenges, collaborate and share knowledge freely with colleagues globally is also critical to success.
This role will face off to senior stakeholder in the organisation so the successful candidate will therefore be personable, articulate and have strong facilitation skills to help take initiatives forward. As a senior member of the team you will be expected to drive innovation and continuous improvement, demonstrate leadership characteristics and display high degree of emotional intelligence.
Key accountabilities
Plan and manage multiple delivery workstreams as part of a phased, multi-year programme.
Provide leadership across Engineering and QA teams.
Align with our business and external programme teams to ensure key dependencies and managed with plans that are robust and appropriate.
Work with the Programme Leads to ensure that key initiatives are fully integrated into the overall plan of activities.
Contribute to the establishment of best practices within the group.
Foster an environment of innovation, close collaboration and evolution in line with key organisation drivers.
Support the adoption of Agile delivery methodologies within both our Technology and Business team.
As a senior manager provide leadership and direction to technology delivery and support functions, within a matrix environment.
Identify, communicate and implement appropriate mitigation for project risks and dependencies.
Identify key resource requirements, ensuring adequate plans for the recruitment, development and retention of the appropriately skilled resources. Identify future resourcing needs both in terms of skills and numbers, ensure pipeline of resources matches future demand.
Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with senior leadership across the organisation.
Key skills
Detailed understanding of Asset Management technology, flows & operations.
Excellent functional knowledge in the Portfolio Management, Trading and Compliance areas of the business
Technical Delivery responsibility for complex, multi-year programmes, working across cross functional / cross regional teams.
Background in software Engineering, with experience in technologies such as Java, .NET, NodeJS, Python, Javascript or Typescript
Understanding of DevOps toolchain such as Terraform, Jenkins or other CI/CD platforms.
Software design patterns and best practice.
TDD/BDD and best practice with CI/CD pipelines.
Skilled in defining and prioritising feature backlogs. Experience of working as a Scrum Master.
Ability to work collaboratively with others and to navigate complex decision points.
Ability to pick up knowledge of the business, new technology areas, new processes/methodologies and apply these changes in the day-to-day working of the Technology organisation.
Experience of delivering change to both internally built and vendor supplied solutions.
End to end delivery experience using formal agile or iterative techniques (Scrum, Kanban, Lean)
Strong stakeholder management skills and experience presenting recommendations.
Able to work to tight deadlines and manage several tasks concurrently.
Passion for growing your skills and tackling challenging problems.
