Your role
The role will be an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant with an in-depth knowledge of property and service charge accounting within the European commercial property arena. Reporting to the Senior Fund Controller - European Real Estate in the Real Estate Operations team who is based in the UK.
The role will also be responsible for reconciling property and service charge accounting, ensuring that the service charge Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Bank Reconciliations are reconciled to the records held by our managing agents.
The role will also involve working closely with other FIL departments in Europe including fund accounting as well as our external property managers.
Key Responsibilities
Management and reconciliation of service charge reporting
Provide efficient accounting and administration services in relation to real estate assets
Provide responsive service and support the portfolio management team and other stakeholders
Ensure integrity of property information such as income and expense within the financial reporting systems
Ensure compliance with procedures and controls and internal risk policies
Ensure the continuous improvement of all fund operations processes under the remit of the role
Assist with the year end audit process
Experience and Qualifications
The candidate will have experience of accounting and administration within a real estate environment in Continental European countries
Experience required of service charge accounting and related reporting activities
Strong reconciliation and investigation skills are essential
An ability to work cross-team and cross-department and influence others will be important within this role
Good communication skills are critical and the candidate must be able to articulate ideas coherently to colleagues, third party vendors, internal customers and external clients
Attention to detail and a good work ethic is important
Good interpersonal skills as the position requires daily contact with Portfolio Managers, Research Professionals, Financial and other Administrative staff
