Your role:
This role sits within the Investment Management Research & Portfolio Management Technology Data Team. The role will support delivering a strategic data platform to migrate existing legacy use cases to, and to enable future required capabilities. The role will involve working directly with the team lead to architect, prototype and scale up implementations.
This role is appropriate for a Senior Data Engineer capable of taking ownership and a delivering a subsection of the wider data platform. The senior engineer will be very hands on in delivery but will also interface with other areas of the business to unlock new integrations patterns.
About you
Develop Spark (Pyspark) Data Pipelines
Integrate with enterprise data lake (Snowflake) and NoSQL offerings (ElasticSearch, Cassandra, etc...)
Architect data driven solutions
Supporting the overall delivery of the projects by liaising with external teams
Key accountabilities
Strong Spark experience. Implementation will be pyspark but open to candidates who have used Scala
Strong python developer with good understanding of the ecosystem
Experience of modern data stacks (MPP Data Warehousing, Lakehouse) or good exposure to wide variety of NOSQL offerings
AWS Data Engineering experience
Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices
Unit testing and TDD
Documentation
Reusable code
Architecting data solutions and effective technical influencing
